Bereavement volunteer training provides skills and resources to prepare volunteers to support patients and families through various stages of grief and bereavement. This 15-hour program is for all volunteers who work with hospice survivors to provide bereavement support and work as part of the interdisciplinary team. Participants will develop an understanding of the general principles of hospice/palliative care and gain an in-depth understanding of grief and bereavement and learn practical skills that will enable them to be supportive to survivors. It is recommended that volunteers first attend Initial Hospice Orientation prior to this training.
