This presentation will provide information to Healthcare Providers on the value of providing prognoses to patients so End-of-life strategies can be developed.  Provocative videos and thought-stimulating questions will inspire each participant to seek meaningful ways to incorporate the provision of prognoses in clinical practice.

Highlights & Objectives:
  • Identify at least 4 barriers for providing prognosis
  • Verbalize at least 3 reasons that the time preceding death is valuable
  • Discuss the roles of overly optimistic and pessimistic prognoses
  • Review research related to prognoses and its implications
  • Communicate at least 2 tools for providing survival estimates
  • Learn the essential End-of-Life Strategy for helping others prepare for death
