This manual defines how bereavement care is provided within hospice and palliative care settings and is designed as an initial training for all Clinical Staff, Volunteers and new Bereavement Professionals. The manual includes a training guide to introduce these concepts and power point slides for classroom training. Topics included are: goals of hospice bereavement care, role of the interdisciplinary team in providing bereavement care, allowing bereaved persons to experience their losses and grief, use of presence & language, helping the bereaved go forward and self care.
